Pastor John Smithies
Pastor John comes to the ministry after a career with the Washington State Department of Correction. John is a graduate on the Lutheran Theological Seminary in Philadelphia and has a deep love of the ocean and for surfing. He joins us down here with his wife and a family of ferrets. John is deeply moved to experiencing the transforming love of God all around us, in the waves of the ocean, the face on the street corner, and in the presence of God in Word and Sacrament. It this encounter of this love that can transform us to be the love of God for the world.
Pastor Jane Baker
It is with sadness that we report that Pastor Jane returned to be with the Lord on 26 of December. We pray for the peace of Christ to uphold her family in this time of mourning. Information about a memorial service will be provided once plans are decided on by the family. In our times of grief my we be comforted by the promises of Scripture. “For I am convinced that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor rulers, nor things present, nor things to come, nor powers, nor heights, nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord.” Roman 8:28-39
